There's no reason to be paranoid because of Interface Spoiler the game just never tells you this, so you're left to wonder what you're missing out on. The island in the distance is just part of the skybox. Not every type of weapon has an ultimate variant. That broken bridge was just there for flavor. There isn't an item for every box in your inventory screen. why is there still an empty slot in your inventory? Does that bridge get fixed at all? Where is the ultimate upgrade for the laser gun? How do you get to that island in the distance?! You're at the end of the game and have every powerup you've seen, but. So you have a game with lots of hidden areas, secret stashes of powerups, and generally all kinds of rewards for exploring and busting down walls. If the game lives up to the hype, then there's no doubt that RoM2 is going to be a great game. This sequel definitely improves on the original design and concept, giving the lackluster RoM a much needed face-lift. A multi-player map editor is also included.Īll in all, it looks as if RoM2 is going to please fans of the first game, and it might even make some new converts. Another innovation is the ability of your clans to receive individual multi-player quests. Even though I can't cheat I still plan to take advantage of the multi-player feature that allows you to form clans with other players. That's to prevent all us cheaters from having fun at the expense of others. The new arenas support up to 16 players and will store character data exclusively on the server. The multi-player side of RoM2 promises to be a lot of fun too. Interactions are now more complex and more realistic. Apparently the whole NPC interaction system has received an overhaul. Now you can put those orcish shamans to use for yourself. The alliance system will now permit alliances with orcs and trolls. Also included are the Druid and Necromancer classes, two branches of the mage class. The orc shaman is a combat mage that helps give the orcish race a little more versatility now. Three new mages have been added to the game as well. It's still based on the five-element principal from the first RoM game but many of the spell effects and graphics have been updated. The folks at Nival and Monolith have really taken the time to create an experience that is totally fresh and original.Įven the magic system gets a few new additions. Also new is the addition of over 200 spells, weapons, armor, objects and buildings. Each group gets its own magic abilities and its own unique homeland. Each has been thoroughly fleshed out with a history and culture all its own. In addition to the unique mission structure, RoM2 includes over 52 new races and 14 new monsters. All this concern over missions means that no two games will play out exactly the same, adding to the longevity of RoM2. Some missions are specific to class-in other words, mages will see a few missions that fighters won't see and vice versa. You may choose missions at your discretion and even move between missions if the mood strikes you. Obviously some missions lead to others but you're not locked in to follow one specific path throughout the game. There are over 43 individual adventures in RoM2 and luckily they are of the non-linear type. Overall, the game promises to have a very unique atmosphere. In RoM2 you'll roam from the deep forest of the Druids all the way to an Arabian city of Knights. The overall world is still based on the same premise-islands of reality separated by astral planes-but the actual map is different. You need it to take on the undead forces of the Necromancers' Guild, the big baddies in this installment. I don't want to give away to much of the story so I'll just say that you're in search of the Crown, an ancient artifact of tremendous power.
